About Martin

Martin’s background is all about the kitchen. Having been a chef for nearly 20 years he has worked in some of the finest 5* Hotels and Michelin rated restaurants in both London and France. Throughout Martin's career he has established himself as a passionate and dedicated chef who enjoys using some of the finest ingredients, accompanied by a genuine feel for good old fashioned hospitality. He has enjoyed testing his skills through competitions and sharing them by taking on students, doing master classes and mentoring apprentices.
 

About Lucy

Lucy comes from an extensive events and catering background ranging from organising dinners at 10 Downing Street, exhibitions at London’s Earls Court, events for Fifteen and most recently running one of the UK’s largest children’s farm parks.
 
Lucy was brought up in the Ashwell area and taking over the Bushel and Strike has been like coming home for her. Having family in the village makes it the perfect setting for them to bring up their young daughter and bring a warm family welcome to The Bushel.
