Martin and partner Lucy moved to Ashwell originally to take on the mantle of running of the The Bushel in 2014, a venue Lucy was very familiar with, having grown up in the Local area.
They very quickly incorporated those values and philosophies gained during their illustrious careers into The Bushel, resulting in great reputation for the pub, not just Locally but further afield.

After nearly four years at the helm, new opportunities beckoned and the decision to leave was not taken easily.
Now fast forward 7 years and add some interesting life experiences, the opportunity to re take on the Tenancy of The Bushel was presented to us and we felt that the time was right to take on the challenge once again.

Today, Martin will split his time between the kitchen and front of house and with the assistance of key staff members will bring the same philosophy and energy to the pub that was previously there, however you may hear a little more of that Scottish twang than you did before.
Martin and his team are very much looking forward to seeing you all soon for some fabulous food, drinks and fun times.
